CONSERVATION & STEWARDSHIP
The two-day Leave No Trace Trainer Course is a vital component of the national Leave No Trace program. It is designed for educators, guides, agency employees, other outdoor professionals and anyone interested in learning more about minimum impact skills and ethics. This course covers the Seven Principles of Leave No Trace as well as techniques for disseminating these low impact skills. The course features a short easy backpack and optional overnight campout The main objective of this course is to train attendees on how to present the ethics to others.
Each year, Leave No Trace Awareness Workshops reach 10s of thousands of people with minimum impact skills and ethics. These entry-level, Leave No Trace courses are typically one to three hours long, but can be up to a full day in length. They can be tailored to educators, youth, college students, scouts, outdoor professionals or anyone with an interest in learning more about Leave No Trace practices. An Awareness Workshop may also be tailored in it’s content such as Leave No Trace for a specific environment, a specific recreation activity or maybe just an overview of the Seven Principles. They can be conducted both in a classroom setting and outdoors.
