This is for you if: You want to learn all there is to know about Dutch Oven Cooking and enjoy a scrumptious group meal.

Do you like to spend time in the outdoors AND eat good food? Who says you have to settle for freeze dried packaged meals and granola all the time!

During this fun and informative workshop, learn about the history and current uses of cast iron and Dutch oven cookery, how to choose and care for a Dutch oven and, most importantly, how to use various ingredients to create delicious camp meals perfect for sharing.  Class will include a demonstration of how to cook a one pot pasta meal, scrumptious cobblers and breads, and other delights. Cap off the day with a group meal (included in cost) and you have the perfect ending to your outdoor culinary experience!

Minimum age is 10 years old.

    Lodging is available at Uncle Johnny's in Erwin, Woodsmoke Campground in Unicoi, Rock Creek Campground in Erwin (open May-Oct), Grand View Ranch Campground in Unicoi, Blackberry Blossom Campground in Unicoi and Nature's Inn Hostel and Cabins in Flag Pond, TN. Uncle Johnny's Hostel in Erwin has a variety of camping and lodging options. The closest hotel is a Super 8 in Erwin and there are hotels in Johnson City as well (20-30 minutes away).

    Please notify us if you have any dietary allergies or restrictions and we will do our best to accommodate. Note, however, given the nature of this class and the preparation required, significant deviation from the menu may not be possible.

    I certify that all registrants meet course prerequisites as defined in the course description, meet the minimum age requirements and do not have any medical conditions or limitations that would prevent their ability to safely participate in the activity.

  • Cancellation policy

    NOLI activities go rain or shine. If you cancel or decrease the number of participants in your party the following applies:

    Cancellations 30 or more days prior to your activity will receive a full refund.
    Cancellations 14-29 days prior to the activity date will receive a full reservation booking voucher.
    Cancellations 0-13 days prior to the activity date are not extended a refund or voucher.
    No Shows are not extended a refund or voucher.
